A guy can get a lot done, if he doesn’t have to work and the weather is bad....

Black locust 000 12-fret. I cut the B&S from a plank I bought last year. First time I’ve used one of John’s benders - it worked a treat after I followed the instructions. The black locust is very prone to cracking and ring shake, so it took a couple tries to get a good set completed. Top is spruce. I’m following Robbie O’Brien’s lessons on top voicing, so it will be interesting to see the results. Rosette is walnut/cherry/spalted maple with a B/W outline.

Hope to get the box closed up in a couple days. Wife said I need to finish up the table I’m building before I go too much further, lol.

BL turns a really interesting olive drab if you fume it with ammonia

Beginner question: What is "ring shake"?

Tendency to split right at the growth rings.
