My 3rd classical is done!

Post by Kevin Sjostrand »

This is my 2nd full classical, the first of 3 was actually a crossover.
This is based on a 1967 Daniel Freidrich plan. Birdseye maple back and sides, Englemann spruce top, curly Koa bindings, maple and indian rosewood purflings, curly Koa headstock face and heel cap. Schaller tuners with ebony knobs. Ebony fretboard and indian rosewood bridge
FP finish that was sanded and rubbed out to a gloss.

It is complete except for putting on strings a doing the final setup. I'm going to let it sit in its case for a few days and then will string her up.
I have high hopes for a loud clean trebley sound. We will see.

Gorgeous! That is a great looking guitar. I am sure Wayne will like it.

Thanks John, I surely hope he does. He has been playing for years on an old broken up (literally) 80 year old Washburn AA size guitar, made for steel string, strung with nylon.
It should be a major step up for him.

Strings are on, it sounds pretty darn good if I do say so myself. In the case now waiting to be picked up by the new owner.
