L-0 finished
I thought I'd post a few more pics of this one. I strung it up on Sunday morning and frankly was disappointed in the sound. Very weak. I played a bit and the left to see a ball game and didn't touch it until this morning. I can't believe how much better it sounded. More full and robust. I know they get better the more you play them, but this one seemed to change just being strung up and sitting.
It's a nice size and shape. Here's the particulars:
Guitar #7 Gibson style L-0
Padauk/Ambrosia Maple back and Padauk sides
Cedar top
Purpleheart, Padauk and Koa rosette and end wedge
B. Rosewood/Padauk bridge
Ebony fingerboard w/Padauk position markers
Walnut bolt on neck
Crotch walnut head plate
Padauk/Ambrosia Maple backstrap
Finished with zpoxy pore fill and Royal Lac

nice looking guitar. I like the book matched veneer on the back of the headstock, matching the back.

Thanks John. I don't plan every detail when I start. I inlaid a cutout of ambrosia maple as an afterthought. It seemed to tie it together.johnnparchem wrote:nice looking guitar. I like the book matched veneer on the back of the headstock, matching the back.

How is the sound, with that bracing pattern?
