maingeezer visit

Post by tippie53 »

It was a hectic day in the shop , but I had time to visit with our own Maingeezer Steve Wellcome and his wife. He brought along a dulcimer and a nice guitar he made of indigenous woods from Maine. It really sounded very nice and played very well.
He used dogwood on the fret board. Walnut back and sides and I hope he can post a few pics. It was a nice playing and sounding guitar.
Safe trip to Ohio and thanks for stopping in and sharing your work. It is great to see people from the forum and spend a little time.

It's very cool that he got to visit. I live in northern WV, on the Ohio River, but it would have taken them too far off course for a visit. I hope to eventually meet Steve and hopefully other forum members. I hope they have a safe drive and wonderful holiday.

We had a great time. I would love to have John's shop! Thanks to John for making time in his busy day to see us.
I've already posted pictures of the guitar. See "A more-or-less copy of a Martin OM" in the blog thread. It describes the whole build process.
