Ladder braced oak

Just finished an oak + red spruce, ladder brace, 12 fret, J-185. It is my attempt at a fancy guitar based on some of the work that Gibson did on guitars and banjos in the 20's and 30's. It was a lot of fun and I was able to involve a couple of local craftspeople.

The oak and red spruce will take a while to open up, but for now it has that ladder braced sound with a bit less sustain and a bluesy sound.

Looks real nice Ed. Super job on that butt joint. Who did the artwork on the fretboard?

A local artist helped with the gold leaf, and another local artist did the pictures. In addition, a friend donated the Pearloid, and 3 amazing professionals gave plenty of advice on painting Pearloid and installing gold glitter. A fun time was had by all.
