I just had Andy Birko make me a neck for an oak, 12 fret ladder braced small jumbo in the shape of a Gibson J-185 - 16" lower bout. The white oak is from the Spessart Forest of central Germany and was grown on a plantation. It has 35-40 grain lines per inch and is lighter in weight than the Honduras mahogany used for many necks. The neck is beautiful:
