Arch top parlour blues machine


Well dudes...

Knocked out this sweet little carved arch top parlour blues machine for me lady friends birthday.
Carved from 1 1/2 inch thick plates, at 12 1/4 inches wide, the plates are quite voluptuous...
just like me sweetie.

23.5 inch string length
upper 9 1/4
lower 12 1/4
carved top and back, violin edge, bwb purfling
50 year old air dried strawberry cedar body
Neck chocolate cedar
Padauk head stock plates, fret board, heal cap and tail piece
Lilac bridge, coco bola strap pins
Oil finish.
Stay tites
Extra super lights .008 .010 .015 .021 .030 .038

definitely looks beau-ti-ful, i'm sure it sounds as good as it looks...

Man, that sure is looking good. What are the darker pieces under the E and A strings on the bridge/saddle?
And what's that long tail creature stalking you from behind?

Well the stalker is the house Kitty.

and the darker pieces are Ebony or Black African and is how you lift a string on a violin family bridge that has worn down or was cut too deep or to correct intonation. The sides of the little notched fillers are then glued and file/sanded down flush to the bridge. Not something you see very often in guitar building.
