Finishing up the 2nd torrified guitar. Got the neck on today and will finish up this week. I do like the look.

That is a gorgeous instrument, 00-12 is my favorite size instrument. The torrified top with that rosewood looks great.

John, beautiful guitar, but I'm puzzled, I know my eyes aren't as good as they used to be and pictures sometimes play tricks on some of us. First I love how the abalone is outlining where the FB positions on the top. I've never seen that before (but that doesn't mean much). When I click on the fourth picture down and enlarge the photo and I zoom in on that area it looks to me like the top has been recessed where the FB goes, furthermore it appears that there is some black something or another outlining that area, can't be a shadow because it goes all the way around. When I look at the second picture that shows the neck mounted to the body it looks as normal as any other guitar. Is there an explanation for this or am I just going plum crazy? More than likely it's the latter.

the top is not recessed the finish is removed to accept a wood to wood glue surface. I have shown this before , the pearl to outline the fretboard is made like a stick so I only have 1 item to inlay and then the black goes under the fretboard . Ties it all together.
There is a line of finish off the black and I can see where that does appear to be a recess .
