I really like the abalam purfling. How was your experience putting it in?

I had no problem with the abalam. I used the teflon spacer strips from LMI, lifted out after the glue dried then glued in the purfling. I used all straight pieces breaking them into the channel and positioning them as I went.
I've only used shell as a fretboard inlay so I can't compare it to abalam as purfling. But the abalam is easy to work with, breaks clean, sands like a dream and has consistent color throughout the set.
