#2 complete

Post by SKBarbour »

Did alot more learning the second time around with alot of improvements to make in the future projects. I'm extremly happy with the improvments I've made over the first guitar. I hope my learning curve remains this steady but I won't get my hopes up. Finishing seems to be my weakness (no suprise) but atleast I understand what needs to happen to get a good finish. Something I didn't understand on the first guitar. Now to the pics.I'm not much of a photographer and my camera is not great but here they are.

Kyle, you did a heck of a job on this one. It's beautiful. Sure nice to see folks skills improving.

Beautiful guitar, Kyle. Very clean, and just enough bling to catch the eye but not overwhelm. Could you give us some of the details about the materials and plan?

Thanks, this is a KMG OM kit. EIR back/sides.Engleman top.Rosette was supplied with kit, I added the abalone ring to it. The abalone purf, fingerboard and headstock inlays came from Dupaule supply. Fretboard is ebony with ebony binding. Maple binding was also a change to the original kit. the original maple binding was pre bent without purf. I liked the idea of the side purf so ordered it from Stew Mac and bent it myself. Not quite hand bent, not quite machine bent. Kind of a combination using a quick made form. I think I took pics if anyone is interested. Enjoyed using some ingenuity to get things the way I want it. The next guitar will be done a little more from scratch.
