Finished my second Classical guitar.
I finally finished my second classical guitar. This like the first was built from a LMI kit. Sounds OK. I will try to get of video of me playing in a day or two.
Top - Engelmann Spruce
Back and Sides – East Indian Rosewood
Pore Fill – Zpoxy
French Polish using Ubeaut Hard shellac
I included links to the discussion during the build (like having to replace the back after the guitar fell off the bench). And pictures through the French polish sessions

Nice John,
That has a very classy look to it.
How do you like it? Sound and play good?

Re: Finished my second Classical guitar.
Thanks guys,
I still have the parlor guitar for my brother waiting for my new spray booth. My shop project is slipping a bit but continuing. The wall board is up. The floors are half in. the doors arrived for the shop, spray booth and dust collection closet. The HVAC system is roughed in.
With the classical out of the shop, I just pulled out the wood and am preparing to start a third parlor guitar for a niece of mine.

John,
Very impressive, very nice.
So which do you like building better; steel string or classical?

Thank you.Kevin Sjostrand wrote:John,

Even though I play classical, I like building the steel string more. I can add more bling and the steel string guys like it. The classical guys would roll their eyes. My guitar teacher rolled his eyes when he saw the very small 7th fret side dot on my first classical. So on the steel strings I can leave the insides alone and play with the outsides.
I am going to move my classical guitars to mortise and tenon necks, I will leave the inside spanish slipper the same I will just have it and the neck as two pieces. I am also going to play with a slightly radiused fret board. I have been reading about newer classical bracing schemes and will try some of them. I am not sure any of them beat the Torres sound (mainly because it defines the classical sound). Most of the effort has been to make louder guitars for concert halls with out straying to far from that sound.
I will keep building both.
John
