000-12 fret # 105 completed

Post by tippie53 »

This is #105. It is quilted Sapele from RC Tonewoods. I had this wood for about 4 years. The guitar is a 25.4 scale 12 fret 000. The top is a 7 year old Bear Claw top from Alaska Specialty Tone woods. I used a pyramid bridge with 1 3/4 nut and 2 1/4 string spacing .

Hey, that looks great. What wood did you use for the back and side sets?

Do other woods have the quilted figuring in them if you get the right piece or is that something unique to Sapele? I really like that.

Figured woods can be found in other species. I have a set of High figured maple . This is often called a bees wing quilt

Thanks for all the kind words. I will take this one out to Nazareth for the UMGF Nazfest next week and then it will be heading down to its new home in Ashville NC. It is a sweet play.
