A friend who refinishes old and antique furniture upgraded his spray unit, and sold me his used Fuji Mini Mite 3 model with the XPC gun with gravity cup. It is supplied standard with a 1.4 mm (.055") nozzle (the gold finish one if you are familiar with these), described as "For general purpose spraying of clear finishes and some thinned paints". Will this size nozzle be okay for nitrocellulose lacquer? Among the optional nozzles there is a 1.0 mm (.039") nozzle which is described as "For thin stains, sealers and clear finishes". I am looking forward to trying this (I used an inexpensive Earlex sprayer and water-based "lacquer" for my first two builds) but would like to eliminate as many variables as possible. I use a 1 and 1.2
you want to thin your mix
I use 20% thinner 10 retarder
on the first coat I use 30% thinner for the first few coats than revert to the 20%

I think spray technique is such a varied and interdependent compilation of elements as to render useless comments from afar, like mine. All these elements interact with all the other elements and send the results out the gun nozzle. Everything matters and influences the results. I suggest OP exhaustively test his equipment and materials mix and see for himself whether he needs another nozzle.
