Lowden also uses filler
it is a personal choice but from going to guitar shows I have not seen many that didn't have fill
Maple and cherry do not need filler
it depends what you will like in finish.
Satin will show less flaws where high gloss will show them.
then the polishing is another part. Finish isn't so much what you put on but what you let on
finish is in my mind harder that building.
prep is key to all finish.
