oversized humbucker mounting rings ?

Post by LeftyAl »

I'm finally getting to the end of this 335 kit build.I think it came out real good. However I do have one slight problem to deal with. When I glued the neck to the body and strung it up,I noticed that the strings did not run down the neck correctly .I asked what to do about this.I was ready to heat and remove the neck and start all over. But the neck fit nice and tight (very little wiggle room.) I was told to plug and redrill the saddle and tail piece holes because often they come from the factory slightly off causing this problem. So I plugged and drilled new holes and it came out great, and a whole lot less work too!!!Now the strings do not sit over the pickups poles like the should.I need to move the pickups down, and I think the old mounting screw holes may show when I do this. So I'm looking for slightly larger pickup mounting rings.Any ideas???

You will need to make your own.

I was afraid that some one might say that.I looked on Ebay and Stew Mac ,with no results. Thanks for the reply. Hopefully when I more the pick ups down ,the original rings can be reused. I'm not talking about moving them a whole lot.
