Everclear banned in Maryland

Post by Mitch »

I was purchasing some beverages for the Memorial Day weekend when I noticed a sign saying that Everclear will no longer be available after June 30.

Stock up now...

Wow thanks for the heads up Mitch. I will be stocking up soon. Wonder if you can still get it in Pa or Delaware.

Any idea what the reason is for the ban?

The ban is for anything 190 proof or more. Just more politicians trying to "protect" us.

I think they're trying to prevent college kids from getting stupid drunk. Yeah, that'll work...

I saw some in a PA liquor store last week. It's still available here.

Mitch and Kyle

They still sell it in DE and I go there frequently - let me know when you need any and I can pick it up

Curious. Is everclear used as a "refreshment?" Or as the name implies, does it have some use in finishes?
From the brief description of everclear that I read, I find it hard to believe that useful artisan work could be performed for a few hours after imbibition. Of course, my own liver isn't up to the task of detoxifying everclear-like beverages ----
