Swirl remover

Hi guys.

I had a question regarding swirl remover.

I usually buff on an arbor with the Manzerna medium and fine compounds. Then i use a swirl remover.

My question is do you wipe it on and buff it off or do you just wipe it off with a rag?

Not really sure I am accomplishing anything just wiping it on and wiping it off!

Do you apply it directly to the buffing wheel?

Thanks

Rick Gunn

I like to wipe it on with a soft rag and use light pressure

If you use the buffer for the swirl remover, I think you should be sure you have buffers that do not have the other grits of compound on, basically buffers only used for the swirl remover,

Yep. I have a dedicated "clean" wheel I use to just buff wax off the guitars when I clean them up.

The issue I am having is the swirl remover dries so fast doing it by hand. I was just wondering if it should be put on the wheel itself.

Should I be using an extra fine Mazerna instead?

I use a rake when I change the grit
the best advice is to do it and see what you get.

You learn by doing don't fear the mistake fear not knowing

I do a final hand glaze with a felt block & some polish to remove swirls.
