Clear coat over enamel

I've been asked to spray clear coats over an electric body that has been painted with Testor's enamel.
Can I use something like Deft nitro aerosol over that? If now, what is recommended?

Lacquer cannot be sprayed over enamel or poly or anything else for that matter -- the solvents are extremely aggressive and will surely lift the base finish. Krylon enamel clear coat is fairly hard and can be buffed to a high gloss if allowed to properly dry/cure. Check the label compatibility for what ever product you might be considering -- a mismatch can make a real mess. You'll need to scuff the surface to get good adhesion.
