finishing with cocobolo

Have a cocobolo guitar ro finish. Have read that cocobolo is tricky to finish. I assume that is because of the oil in the wood. Has anyone had any experience with it and can give recommendations on what type of finish is best to use. As far as pore filling I have used the z7 epoxy with good results if it will be compatible with the finish. Thanks in advance for any info you can give me.

you need to seal the wood . No big issue otherwise.
