BTW I checked with John Hall and I will be posting a toot on how I do the tru-oil thing. I'm pleased with the results on my last few guitars and it may be interesting for a few of you.
A couple of pix of the red oak . I did not go for 'high gloss' but instead tried for a good warm satiny look. TO can be polished to a high gloss, however.

I just love that red oak, I was thinking just earlier today about how it was coming along and couldn't even remember who was building it, thanks for posting the pics!
