I used CA for the bindings on this guitar, so I wiped a little shellac around the outside 1" or so of the top before gluing.
I want that shellac off now, it's a little stubborn. I'm using Denatured alcohol. Should this do the trick or ought I to shellac the whole top and try to match?
Thanks

Re: Remove shellac
I just sand it off using my pre finish grit sanding paper 180-220 grit. But I do coat my tops with shellac before I use lacquer as I like the amber cast.
Re: Remove shellac
Thanks John, that ought to do it. I like the amber cast as well, usually, but this particular top will look better as white as I can get it.
