Best product for cleaning a lacquer surface.

Post by Kevin Sjostrand »

This is probably a redundant question, but it is simplier to just ask it again rather than go searching for it.
What is the best product for wiping down the newly sprayed clear lacquer (within a few days of the last spraying) to decontaminate the surface before starting up spraying again?
I will have a freshly sanded surface. Is this good enough, or do I want to use Naptha, Mineral Spirits, other? Acetone will start to dissolve, so I know that is not the one.
John, Ken, Rick? Thanks for your reply.

I only use angel tears. They enhance the tone. Like hot hide glue.

I've always used naptha -- seems to leave no residue and evaporates very quickly --- plus that's what we used in our paint department at the GM Cadillac plant -- for water borne and acrylic lacquers.

Thanks Ken, um, and Tony.
If I can't lassoo me an Angel to squeeze me some tears, I'll just use some Naptha, or, maybe I'll try beer.

Damn...I tried really hard to come up with a follow up "angel" related post, but the best I got was:

Angels can be hard to catch, but I have two living with me. One, being very young, cries a lot, so I have plenty of angel tears.

Not my best work and I apologize in advance for any and all complaints.
