Hi
Big hole in the side of this guitar. Its Honduran Mahogany.
I dont have the broken piece.
I saw a video where John intentionally broke a side to show how to repair it but I don't remember it being a hole.
Any ideas are appreciated.

Re: How to I plug this hole
I have an idea -
1. Find some thin Mahogany laminate and glue a piece inside the guitar over the crack.
2. Get a thicker piece of mahogany - possibly a "B" piece of side that someone is selling cheap.
3. Trace the hole shape on the piece of mahogany. Cut it out slightly larger than the hole - glue it in.
4. Sand it down level -
5. Now figure out what to do about the finish - possibly stain and finish the repair piece??
What do you think about this idea?
