Basket Case Martin Backpacker

Post by Cbstark46143 »

I recently sold one of my builds to a guy who tells me he has a Martin in need of repair. His story included: gift from ex-wife, alcohol, and “I went all Pete Townsend on it”.
As you can see, needs repair is an understatement. My plan is to replace the top, back and sides, using some orphaned parts. It will be a starter guitar for my young grandson.

It’s completed!

It has been a fun project for me.

Looks good as new and I lowered the action a bit at the nut.

Plays good.......sounds thin......but hey, it’s a Backpacker.
