I understand the reasons not to use epoxy, believe me. Back in 2002 I paid a "luthier" $80 to do a "California" slip block neck reset like this on my lawsuit Takamine and he used epoxy and made a mess of it. This guitar is pretty unique with its huge block and inherently weak joint. The block needs to stay put. If I can get AR glue in there then slip the block in place so much the better but I know it wouldn't hold if I don't have a wood on wood glue joint.
