Hi, Can anyone advise me on what glue to use for gluing back the kerfing on a Martin DCX1E
The instrument had several cracks inside and out and the owner had already removed the back and most of the damaged kerfing.
The sides are laminate of some kind so thats why I'm wondering if titebond will do or if I will need to use 2 part epozy instead
many Thanks
Rusty

Re: Kerfing on Martin DCX 1E
Thanks John, I have glued the kerfing back on now for this repair.
I always respect your advise but just a quick question. Would I be better use either hide glue or titebond next for gluing on the back now ?
I dont know why, but I would be a bit nervous using ca glue for that due to the time limit and curing time etc with ca glues, and all the fiddly bits in between -its a cutaway and lots of bends etc.
Would I get away with titebond original do you think--bearing in mind its laminated back and sides.
Thanks again
