I just saw this. Crazy. Most of us John would be tossing this one into the trash bin.
Touche' for going after it.

Well we finally got this started. The big issue was getting a neck out without the top to hold it stable.

The back was also cracked and separated off the side on the treble side. Also a sever cross grain crack. These I had to stabilize. I used a thin veneer of BRW to work on the inside. Got all the parts in and reglued. The next part will take a few days. Gotta let this all dry. I pointed out the separated area. Most was also cracked kerfed lining but the break was clean enough to repair.

Those are some wild looking wooden clamps. Did you make them?

thanks
the clamps are actually a linemans clamp
I really like them . They are not hard to make and I am looking into that.

Top is braces and I can pull whats left off and replace next week.

Heres what a bard would sing.

When he opened the case i saw the look on his face
it looked beyond repair.
It was battered and smashed like a car crash
to others the end would be near.
he took a long look and lightening struck
the was gauntlet was thrown down.
I shall repair for the devil he dare
he will not keep this guitar down.

He toiled and laboured day after day
into places never known
through hell and high water
he did never faulter
until the job was done.
