Finished neck reset and refinishing on my second guitar.

Even if it ain't broke you can still fix it.

I like either D'Addario EJ17 Med (13-56) phosphor bronze in a non-coated string or if you want a coated string that lasts much longer, the best I've tried are Elixer Nanoweb Med (13-56) phosphor bronze strings. The Nanoweb coating is the thinnest so affects tone the least. (opinion)

Very nice looking guitar - especially for a first attempt!

Ed, After stripping I did do some prep level sanding that opened pores. It took a couple zpoxy coats before I was happy enough to re-spray.

Darryl thanks for the string suggestions.

All, thanks for the comments, I am about ready to send the guitar off to its new owner.

Where have I been?? Not watching for sure.
John, you did a marvelous job on the refinish. It is a beauty.
I will probably do a refinish on my #1 some day as my finishes have improved vastly also.

What comes next?

How do you know exactly where to bore the hole for the steam injector?

There is no exact and I have seen dovetails that are tight fitting everywhere.
But the mortises are generally around 3/4" inch deep. You really need to hit the gap between the mortise and the tenon and you will want to drill into a fret slot so it can be hidden. For the Martin dovetail the 15th fret worked well. If you drill and find that you are still in the tenon, you can drill at an angle hoping to find the gap. The 16th fret would have been too low.
