Fishman not working properly

Post by Zen »

Has anyone experienced a problem with a fishman pick up not picking up the high E string properly? The saddle slot seems to be completely level so thats not the problem, but I notice the end of the pick up strip is slightly frayed--the copper wire is slightly parted and you can barely see a wire underneath--at least it looks like a wire. Having said that it does'nt look damaged as such. Its the B Band T35 system on a Walden cs500 CE

Thanks

I have had that problem twice, but it was with the Hige E and B strings. On the first one I corrected it by flattening the saddle, but on the second one, I ended up having to get a replacement pickup element from Fishman. They were very generous that day and shipped me one at no cost. Good luck.

Look for something that is under the pickup a small piece of wood chip , anything. Most of the time it is not seated and your saddle is off the pick up.
Another reason not to use under saddle transducers . I switched to K&K , They are a better pick up and you don't have to worry about the saddle .

+1 for K&K. Only type I install and everytime I put one in I get the "WOW" factor from the new owner.

K&K pure mini gets my vote for best pick up you can put in an acoustic guitar.
You never know what you are capable of until you actually try....
