Authentic bracing at the factory

I was at the guitar makers connection yesterday picking up some stuff. Huge thanks to Gail, as always she was extremely helpful. I also went down to the martin factory and decided to take the tour. I got these pics of an authentic getting the finishing touches on the braces.

that top is a 000 or OM
note the 1 in bridge plate a Dred would be slightly different shape and 1 3/4 in plate.

You're right John, I misjudged the shape because of those alignment ears on the waist. I'll edit the title, thanks for the heads up. Tim, it was probably me, I was there from about 12:40-1:30. They are pretty backed up there, they've been short handed for the past couple of months and will be for a few weeks more.

Possibly 000 torrified for the OM-28 authentic '31? The man doing the braces said it was an authentic top.

Great shots... going to make 000 just like this.... trying to see if the scalloping on the lower x braces are symmetrical on the bass side vs the treble side... or if the base side has a deeper cut to it? Did u happen to notice? I can't quite see any difference in these pics.

I didn't have time to examine it too closely, the guide had already moved on by the time i was able to get close enough to photo. I would have loved to have spent some time examining it and taking measurements.

I'm sure if they let you take measurements you'd have to buy the guitar at full price....

here is a top from a 1931 era OM that uses very similar bracing
