Dave Musselwhite dropped by the shop the other day with some items of interest. He allowed me to document the old dred top and he had an old 000-45 top that I could take pictures of.

The top is from the factory and is an early sitka top, evidence that Martin did use some sitka during this time period. The spacing is the same as the other 45 rosettes I have seen. The rosette was wood and there are 3 different woods used, ebony or black plastic, maple and rosewood. The vintage rosettes had a few configurations.
The basic on the pre-war had a few differences between examples. The specifics were constant at .090 on the inner and outer ring and .300 on the center.

For documenting the D45 conversions I am doing, Martin allowed me to take photos of the ones in the museum.
Here are some of the photos, measurements to follow. One thing that struck me about the D45 is there were some made with no black or dark ring against the pearl.

Here's is the D45. I'll get better photos next time out at the factory. If you want the file I can send them, that way you can blow them up for better detail. Of note is the top contained heart red abalone, the side and back lower color. The top is .0625 wide, the side and back are .045. The large hex is not a strong color pearl, and while not MOP, I suspect green abalone. Again, I'll get the detailed specs in a few weeks.
