documented 1939 CF Martin D28

This top was loaned to my by Dave Musselwhite
it is from a 1939 D28 , it is an early 39 as the Popsicle brace was not used and the thicker neck block was still used, here are the specs and the photos should get you the rest of the way.

Neck Block is 1 3/4 ( included sides)
neck block width 3 inch

X braces 99 degree
the valley of the scallop was .310
top thickness was .105 to .115 depending where the measurement was take. The original bridge plate was removed and the replacement also taken but from the shadow of the original it was the 1 3/8 plate with the corners mitered and notched.

the rosette spacing is .110
inner and outer ring as .070 b/w/b/w/b .010/.012/.025/.012/010
mid ring is .200 b/w/b/w/b/w/b/w/b
this material is fiberloid plastic. .010/.015/.025/.040/.010/.040/.025/.015/.010

the sound hole is 4 in and the sound hole center is 5 15/16 from the outside edge

the pickguard is under the finish. The herringbone is the old style that we had made up custom.
red spruce top sitka bracing.
