Re: 1939 Washburn Collegian Archtop
I finally located some binding that precisely matches the old binding, both in size and color.
It'll be ready for the neck reset.

The dovetail was thin with pieces missing. I smoothed it with a chisel to maximize gluing area, and glued mahogany to each side with 2 part epoxy. I'll shape it when I'm ready to install the neck.

Nice work! I might invest in the steam needle. Is Stewmac the best option for one?

I use the stewmac steam needle with connector, attached to a car hose from local automotive supply. It's attached to a pressure cooker.

The top is on. I glued the fretboard extension onto the neck. I set the neck today.

After setting the neck, I installed the new trapeze. The old trapeze was severely corroded. I also installed a strap keeper in that gaping hole.
I also cleaned the pickguard. You can see how nasty it was. I'm replacing the hardware for it too, because of corrosion.
I'll put the pickguard on it tomorrow, string it up and set it up.
