1972 D 35 restoration

one of my latest projects is this D35
it needed a neck reset
plate repair
loose bridge
binding on neck
back binding
loose braces

below the pics show the neck pulling. Notice I drilled 2 holes and placed hot water into the neck joint. That worked on the glue as I released the fretboard extension

the binding was straight forward. I always save pieces from my conversions and that came in handy here so I could replace the back binding with older binding so the binding looked aged.

here is a tid bit for you. I use feibings dye and a few drops of brown in the CA gave me a nice aged color that I can use on the areas to match the old bindings

you can see I have clamps on the top to help flatted the hump that developed. After steaming out the neck I applied a wet sponge for a few hours then clamped the top flat . I will let that set for about 72 hr then I can put the bridge back on
