Neck reset on a Kay OOO

Hey John H or anyone else who wants to chime in, I have a mid 60's Kay OOO size guitar in pretty good condition for its age, beat up a bit. But sound. It needs a neck reset. I would think it has a dovetail connect?
I've never tried to take one apart. Can you help guide me on doing this? The neck is bowed upward pretty good too. What is the best way to deal with that? I don't think it was played much, a friend gave it to me a couple years ago. Her Dad bought it for her for her 16th birthday in 1965 and it probably hasn't been used much since then, just beat up because it was never in a case.

The Kay's I've done that are similar to that had a dovetail Kevin but I couldn't guarantee that. If the neck has more bow than the TR can handle you can heat bend it back in shape.

I'll look again but I don't think it has a truss rod

Kevin isn't that a truss rod cover at the nut?

Well golly gee I think you are right :)
Okay, I can see if that will turn first and where it puts the neck, but it is really bowed. :)

feel free to call me
The ones I saw had a dovetail and they were a bit different than martin but similar.

Take your time to find the pocket in the neck . If you don't find one don't panic.

pull the 15th fret and drill 2 holes on one each side of the truss rod. If nothing happens in 15 min stop.

You usually see something happening pretty fast in this time period.
Kay was a decent guitar and were not epoxied.

Take pics and keep us posted

John, I am assuming you are talking about injecting steam into those holes in the fret slot?

And if you use some Glenlivet scotch to generate the stream it make the process all that much more enjoyable:)
