Fee for doing a set up

Post by watergunn »

Hi guys.

I have had more and more people bringing me their guitars for a set up.

Is there a basic fee some of you charge to do this?

I have been charging $40 plus the strings.

No idea if I am in the ballpark or not.

Some only take a half hour and some take an hour and a half.

Thanks for any advice.

I charge $35 and that includes strings. It is probably a local thing based on area cost of living.

Depends on the type of guitar, fixed bridges, electrics and acoustics $40, standard tremelos $60, locking tremelos $70. Strings are extra.
You never know what you are capable of until you actually try....
