Hello all...
Tom here, in Green Bay Wisconsin. I am a relatively new guitarist, having started only about a year ago after playing drums for over 35 years. I really enjoy building things and have built numerous components for aircraft over the years...including work with spruce wing spar and fuselage components, as well as various components made from aircraft-grade plywood. But since I don't work with aircraft any longer I decided to try my hand at building a guitar, and yesterday I ordered my first kit from John: A Martin D-18. Hopefully I'll be able to start working on it in early January.
Anyway I've been perusing the forum for a few days now and it seems to be an excellent source of information for builders, so I'm very happy to have found the site! I'm very much looking forward to meeting some fellow builders, and (with luck) getting out to John's shop for a week in 2016.
TB
Greetings from Green Bay

Hi Tom,
Welcome! There are few things as rewarding as building a guitar, then playing it. I hope to see your progress. Have fun.
