Yo from Florida

Post by brashboy »

Man, am I glad I found this forum, which I found on accident by googling 335 guitar kit. This really is too cool. I hope to build a 335 and will start with a kit that already has the neck set and holes drilled. [Building from scratch is probably a pipe dream, especially since a lot of my power tools were stolen!] Finishing seems to be a big enough project to tackle at first!

There are a lot of junk kits out there that will never sound good - poor workmanship, poor wood, etc. I am familiar with RM Olson and Rikenstein (reverb.com), which offer great kits and I think get them from the same source. Any other good kits out there?

I'm looking for great build quality and want to have a magnificent instrument when done -- assuming of course I do my part...

Glad to be here!

Howdy from PA. And yes finishing in itself can be very challenging.
You never know what you are capable of until you actually try....

Welcome brashboy (do you have a name that we can address you as?) Where abouts in Florida do you reside? I was born in West Palm Beach and spent a few of my teenage years in Titusville/Cocoa.

P.S. I'll be sure to return your tools
