Hello From West Virginia!

Post by Diane Kauffmds »

Hi everyone,

I'll start by saying I've never built a guitar in my life. I own 4 guitars: An Alvarez Masterworks MD95, a Cordoba CE Limited edition solid Koa, an unknown classical guitar that was left to me by my husband's late daughter, and my newest La Patrie Etude.

I've caught the "gotta build a guitar" virus, so I've decided to build a kit guitar. I'm still vacillating between a dreadnought and a 000 size. I will be reading through posts and asking questions; I'm a detail oriented, methodical, and organized person. I'm also a perfectionist, so I know it will take quite a while to build my guitar to my satisfaction.

Just wanted to say "hey" before I started skulking around.

Hey! Skulking is OK but we really like it when members join in.
Glad you found your way to the KGF.
Are you any good at identifying wood species from photos?

I'd say I'm fair to middling, but learning quickly.

Welcome Diane, just a word of caution, guitar building has a sharper hook on it than heroin! Being a perfectionist you'll fit right in with the rest of us. Everyone is here to help don't be bashful and we love pictures.
Wood identification? take a stab at our newest topic, it's lots of fun and you could win the $1,000,000 grand prize. Not.
