Newbie from the UK

Post by SimonR »

Hi All,

I'm Simon, from Warwick in the UK.
I've never really "built" a guitar before, although I have done quite a few partcasters (2 Strats, a Tele and 2 Jazz Bass Vs) and am currently restoring several SGs, an old Gibson "The Paul" and a Gibson Invader. My collection stretches to around 30 guitars, mostly Gibson or Fender electric 6s and basses.
I have 2 acoustics only - a Martin and a Fender classical. I'm embarrassed to admit that I know so little about acoustics that I had to send the Fender to a professional luthier for set up (it was a Friday afternoon guitar, I think).
Anyway, I'm here to learn from you all.
My ambition is to build a Martin kit, so any advice on that will be gratefully received.

best wishes,
Simon

Help is here. I have a series of videos on you tube. Search on blues creek guitars and you'll find a wealth of info.
In addition to our amateur experts, we have Pros who are willing to help. (Sylvan Wells, Rick Davis, Robbie O'Brien, John Hall and Bryan Howard among others)
All you need to do is ask.
