Hi, Wondering if anyone has info to share....links, pics, videos, of methods to do a bolt on fretboard? This seems like a good additional to a bolt on neck and not too hard to do....add a platform to the neck block extending inward toward the sound hold, glue a piece to the bottom of the fretboard extension, and route a recess into the top/neck block extension to receive it, add an insert and bolt...? Best materials, order of work, grain direction, and so on... thanks!
this kind of thing...

are you talking about bolt on to the top?
I have seen a few methods
The best one I have seen was planned with the neck block. A cantilever on the neck block was machined with a slot. There fretboard had a piece of brass screwed using the 19th fret. It used 2 small dots to hide the screws that went through the cantilever.

I've scratchbuilt five with fingerboards whose extensions bolt to the body. I suggest a review of the process described by Luthier's Cool Tools.

Here is a link to exactly how I make the Double Mortise and Tenon neck joint. All measurements are given so that anyone can adapt this method for their own use.
