carbon fiber

Post by ruby@magpage.com »

Anyone have a reasonable source for carbon fiber rods? Diamon Plate has a them for $6 each but you have to order $30 minimum. $30+ is about what a pair of them cost in the places I have found.

Check with mainegeezer. He used them in the neck he's building.

Dragonplate.com is the cheapest I know of. There is the $30 minimum order, but for that you can get 12 feet of 0.125x0.325 rod. The thing is, you probably don't need 12 feet....but elsewhere you may pay about $30 for enough to do a single guitar. So pay $30 and have leftovers, or pay $30 for just what you need. Your call.

Thanks Peter.

Aerospace Composite Products is the place to shop. A piece .340 X .121" and 48" long cost $2.90. Shipping is $16 minimum, so I got 12 feet of it for $25. The only reason I got 12 feet is because it was so cheap once you paid the shipping.
