Favourite fret wire
I'm gathering supplies for my next couple projects and one thing I'm trying to decide on is fretwire.
What is your favourite fretwire for acoustics? Let me know what brand and size you like the most.

Re: Favourite fret wire
My favorite at this point is the gold colored wire that LMI sells. Nice to work, and looks great when polished.

Re: Favourite fret wire
My 2 main choices are to order Stewmac fretwire, or I can order Jescar wire which I can buy pre-radiused. With the Stewmac it comes straight and I would have to also get (or make) a fretwire bender. I'm leaning towards the Jescar for that reason. My next build is going to be a Martin 000 12 fret so I'm thinking of going with the 43080 mentioned earlier.

Re: Favourite fret wire
I bought a supply of wire from Euphonon years ago that was fine. Didn't care for StewMac much.
Just got some Jescar wire and it seems to be the best. Best price was by the pound and the radius is good right off the coils. Bought three different sizes, so I should be set for a while. I also got the fret tang nipper and it's the best.

Re: Favourite fret wire
I usually use jescar, unless I have to do compression fretting. I have trouble bending the wire into a nice radius, so I pick up the jescar precut fretwire that is radiused.
Stewmac is 35 miles from me and I've been there a several times to pick up supplies. They have nice fretwire in different tang widths for compression fretting.

Jescar wire source? I've found only one, and I'm curious if others offer better (or worse) prices.
Thanks!
Thanks!
