Back in 2005, about a year before I started this forum, I bought a Brazilian RW kit from John Hall on eBay. It was the third kit I had gotten at the time, and since then I've built just over twenty others. But that kit, with its beautiful sapwood and figured Braz, waited until I thought I'd developed the skills needed to do it justice. Finally, that day came, and I started working on it. It is now complete except for the body finish, with Coastal Redwood top, John's 1970's Braz body (apparently rejected by Martin because they don't build anything with any sapwood). It's in a case, neck temporarily bolted on, waiting to be finished. It's been that way for about a year, now.

That is some beautiful BRW. It's amazing that Martin would reject this wood, but good for you.
