Thanks John!! I think I'll try that technique with a foredom tool and stewmac base so I can at least see what I'm doing....

I route my headstocks upside down on the router table, using the standard binding/bearing bits that John has. No matter how you do it, handheld or router table, it is best to leave the curves by the fretboard vertical so that the bit can follow correctly. If you completely shape them, with the finished roundover shape, the bearing won't have a straight surface to follow.
