I've built my first Dred (with help) and am trying an OM on my own. Can someone provide me with the back brace spacing I'll need to use. Thanks.

OM Back Brace Spacing

Re: OM Back Brace Spacing
I just happen to have just laid out bracing for an OM. Here's what I've used for years. The dimensions are taken from the upper bout border to the north side of each brace:
1) 3.50"
2) 6.75"
3) 10.00"
4) 14.00"
I typically use 1/4" wide braces for all 4 braces. #1 & #2 are typically .625" tall at the center and #3 & #4 are typically .750" . Depending on the back wood and other considerations, I've also gone as low as .500" and .625" respectively.

JJ, thank you very much for your quick reply. I never knew how much I'd enjoy building guitars. I wish I started this 30 years ago. I'm having the time of my life. Now I'm going to check out your website. CYA. Tim B
