Ditson body finished

Post by Woody OKeefe »

Hi Guys,

Well the body is finished and the neck should be done in a week if I can drill the tuner holes in the slot head properly.

Thanks for the approval guys,

Darren the finish is shellac followed by wipe on poly.
This the best finish out of three guitars. It seems to be how good is my technique rather than the type of finish. Since I don't pour fill or spray I am very happy the way it turned out.

It really does look great! I used Wipe On Poly on the neck of my last guitar and I am very happy with how it turned out. It is smooth and glossy and was very little work. I even used it on the fretboard and that turned out great too!
Good luck with the tuner holes!

Wow that looks great. Did you just put a wash coat of shellac on and then apply the poly?
