Touche! I apparently am!! :-)
The sides are also Maple. Neck - mahogany. It's finished with Qualasol (my choice after I brought it home) - a lacquer that you apply like a French Polish. Lot and lots of thin thin coats. I was too chicken to try a real French Polish, and I don't own spray equipment.

I thought the sides might be maple also but the color fooled me.

Welcome to the forum. Looking at your current work it looks like you have not forgotten what you learned on the first guitar. All of your work looks great.

Folks - via fits and starts....Life DOES intrude, I finally glued on the bridge today. Dare I say, this is close to being a (well an unFINISHED) guitar?
I am looking forward to screwing in the tuners, cutting the slots in the nut and stringing it up for a test drive.
