I like how the backstrip and the end graft looks like one continuous line broken up only by the binding.

Looks good in the pictures John. I wonder how many binding purfling schemes really end up the way they were originally planned...I include myself in that.
And at the same time, I figure many times they turn out better than our original plans.....

Nice job with the save. I am thinking the same thing as Kevin: How many innovative purfling schemes were derived from a slip of the router?
No matter, your design looks very nice.

I also had to add a a thin piece of purfling (black and white) to the back of Fatso because of a boo boo I made while chiseling for the end graft, I'm actually glad that I made the error because it really fancied it up a bit.

Thanks guys, it is growing on me. The bindings went on OK. I pre-bent the stack of purflings so that it was easier to get the whole mess taped up. Here are the picktures after I leveled the bindings.

No I bought it at stewmac.com. I bought in response to slipping with the router. I need a way to hold the guitar when going at it with a router. http://www.stewmac.com/shopby/product/5655David L wrote:Hey John did you build that cradle?

How do you like it? I've got the one from Waldron.

It is OK, I think I might put in a couple of more holding blocks, but it has been holding the guitar while I was pulling and tugging putting the binding tape.

The Waldron cradle has six holding blocks and it does pretty good, wouldn't mind having a couple more but not sure it would help much.
