Well, I opened the box!

Yesterday I used a few dribbles of water to pop out the factory dings, and today I started sanding to smooth and clean with a 120-grit sanding sponge. I'll use 220 before I apply the grain filler. I'll use dark mahogany on the mahogany back, sides, neck, and headstock, and black on the flame maple front.

I'm going to work on the neck and body concurrently, so, when one is drying or I get tired of sanding it, I can go to the other.

Question: Is there a best way to remove a few smudges of glue from the factory? I'm sanding, but contemplating scraping.

Scraping is the way to go to get the glue off, then sand to prep as normal.
